Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you book UK Barre Academy instructor training.

About UK Barre Academy and these terms

These terms apply to bookings for UK Barre Academy (UBA) instructor training and related services made through our website or directly with us, unless separate written terms are agreed for a corporate or private group booking. Provider: UK Barre Academy. Contact: hello@ukbarreacademy.com. Website: https://ukbarreacademy.com/. Please read these terms and the course-specific information before booking.

Course description and eligibility

UBA provides specialist Barre training for people who already have appropriate movement or teaching experience and qualifications, including suitably qualified Pilates, Yoga, Personal Training, group fitness and dance professionals. We may request evidence of relevant experience or qualifications and reserve the right to decline an application where entry requirements are not met, with any payment dealt with fairly and in accordance with applicable law.

Course fees and what is included

The course fee, date, venue, hours, training materials and any included assessment are those shown in the course description and checkout when you book. Promotional or Founding Instructor rates apply only to the specified dates or offers. Any optional extras, reassessment fees, alternative assessment charges or payment-plan terms will be explained before you commit to paying. For the Founding Instructor course, the standard practical video assessment is included in the fee.

Booking and payment

Submitting an enquiry or registering interest does not reserve a course place. A booking is confirmed when the required payment or agreed instalment has been received and UBA has confirmed the course date. Places are limited. If a third-party payment provider or instalment service is offered, its separate terms may also apply; any fees or credit arrangements will be disclosed at checkout.

Your cancellation and transfer requests

Please email hello@ukbarreacademy.com as soon as possible if you cannot attend. Subject to your statutory rights and any different terms clearly agreed before purchase, our standard cancellation arrangements are: more than 28 days before the course – a full refund less any clearly disclosed non-refundable booking or administration costs; 14 to 28 days before the course – 50% of the course fee refundable; less than 14 days before the course – normally non-refundable because venue, tutor and administrative costs have been committed. Where reasonably possible, we may offer a transfer to another available course date instead. Transfers are not guaranteed and must be confirmed by UBA.

Statutory cancellation and refund rights

Nothing in these terms limits any statutory consumer rights. Depending on the nature of your booking and how the contract is made, you may have a statutory right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days. Exceptions and rules for services beginning within that period may apply. Where a statutory cancellation right applies, it takes priority over the standard cancellation schedule above. If you expressly request that a service begins during the cancellation period, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for services already supplied if you later cancel; any loss of cancellation rights following full performance requires the applicable legal conditions to be met. Please contact us promptly if you wish to exercise a statutory cancellation right.

Non-attendance

If you do not attend without prior notification, the course fee will normally be non-refundable, subject to applicable legal rights. Certification cannot be issued unless the required attendance, participation and assessment standards have been met.

If UBA cancels or changes a course

If UBA cancels a course or makes a significant change that means you cannot reasonably attend, we will offer an appropriate alternative date or a refund of the course fee paid for the affected training. We aim to provide as much notice as possible. Please avoid making non-refundable travel or accommodation arrangements where possible; your statutory rights are unaffected.

Training, health and participation

Learners are responsible for providing accurate information about relevant qualifications and for participating within their own capabilities. Please tell us in advance about access needs or reasonable adjustments you would like us to consider. Training is practical, and instructors must exercise professional judgement and work within their existing qualifications, competence and insurance. UBA training does not replace an underlying fitness or teaching qualification.

Assessment and certification

Attendance at a UBA training day does not automatically make someone a UBA Certified Instructor. Learners must complete the required practical assessment successfully, normally within three months of the training date, under the assessment arrangements provided for their course. Certificates and permission to use the UBA Certified Instructor designation are granted only after successful completion. Assessment decisions can be challenged under our separate Appeals Procedure.

Accreditation and professional recognition

UBA's training has CPD accreditation through The CPD Standards Office. CIMSPA Training Provider Partnership and course endorsement are separate processes and should not be described as approved unless and until UBA receives formal confirmation. Completion of UBA training does not guarantee acceptance by a particular employer, fitness club or insurer; learners should check their own requirements.

Training materials and intellectual property

Training manuals, course materials, choreography, trademarks, logos and the UBA teaching method remain the intellectual property of UBA or its licensors. Learners may use supplied materials for their own permitted learning and, once certified, teach within the scope of their UBA authorisation. They must not copy, sell, distribute or use the materials to train or certify other instructors without written permission.

Complaints and concerns

If you have concerns about a booking, course or service, please contact hello@ukbarreacademy.com. Our published Complaints Policy explains the process and response times. Assessment appeals are handled separately under our Appeals Procedure.

Personal information

We use personal information in accordance with our published Privacy Policy. By booking, you acknowledge that we need certain information to administer training, payment, learner support and assessment.

These terms are intended to be fair and transparent and do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded or restrict statutory consumer rights. We may update these terms from time to time; the version applicable to your booking will ordinarily be the one made available when you booked, unless a lawful change is agreed.
